4:2 ratio

4 hours self-directed study per 2 hours of live class

The most important skill in cybersecurity: learning how to learn.

Before every session you receive a reading list and questions to complete independently. After each session, you practice what was covered in the lab. The goal isn’t just to teach you pentesting — it’s to build the habit of continuous, self-directed learning that every top security professional has. Total commitment: approximately 12 hours per week (4 live + 8 self-study).

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Plan for approximately 12 hours per week: 4 hours of live sessions (2× per week, 2 hours each) plus 8 hours of self-directed study. Before each session you receive a reading list and preparation questions to complete independently. After each session there is lab practice to reinforce what was covered. This structure is intentional — the ability to learn independently is the most important skill in cybersecurity, and the course is designed to build that habit alongside the technical content.
No. The course starts from absolute zero — Week 1 covers what hacking is and how to set up your lab. The only requirement is a laptop with 8GB+ RAM and the drive to learn.
Every session is a live video call on Google Meet with Michael and your cohort. You can ask questions in real time, share your screen, and get immediate feedback. Nothing is pre-recorded.
SL-JPT stands for Sec-Llama Junior Penetration Tester. It is an industry certification issued and signed by the CEO of Sec-Llama upon successful completion of the final project. Top graduates may be invited to join the Sec-Llama team and work on real-world engagements.
All tools are free: Kali Linux, VirtualBox, Wireshark, Nmap, Burp Suite Community, DVWA, MobSF, and more. You need a laptop with at least 8GB RAM (16GB recommended) to run virtual machines comfortably.
Payment is processed via PayPal. Full tuition is due before the first session. The early-bird price of $3,500 is available for the first cohort only — it returns to $7,000 for future cohorts.
Missing up to 3 sessions is acceptable provided you stay current with weekly home missions. Missing more than 3 sessions may affect eligibility for the SL-JPT certification. Michael will do his best to support students who communicate proactively.
Yes. The course gives you practical skills, a lab portfolio, and an industry certification. The final sessions include a full certification roadmap (CompTIA Security+, eJPT, OSCP) and career guidance. Exceptional graduates are considered for roles at Sec-Llama.
Sessions run on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:00 PM Eastern / 5:00 PM Pacific. The cohort starts mid-July 2026. The schedule is confirmed with enrolled students before the first session.
